All training programs are designed to enable graduates to develop autonomy in their individual process, skills in their chosen field and commitment to excellence that will fuel and drive their passion.
Graduates have made significant contributions to the vitality and professional standards of the performing arts community in Australia and overseas through their performance and also through using their initiative to create their own work opportunities. Message from the Director
History
In Brief
The ACTT Advantage

The Actors College of Theatre and Television
(ACTT) was established in the newly restored St Laurence Arts Centre
at 505 Pitt Street, Sydney. Founded by Director, Lesley Watson, with
support form a number of professional actors and about 30 part-time
students, ACTT began to develop full-time and part-time courses which
met both student needs and aligned clearly with the trends and standards
expected in the acting profession.
In its 15 year history, ACTT developments have led to the national accreditation
of Australia's most innovative performing arts training programs. These
range from Certificate III level courses through to the Advanced Diploma
of Arts in Stage and Screen Acting. There is extensive
interest in these courses from many countries around the world, and
ACTT enrolled its first overseas student, from Brazil, in the Advanced
Diploma course in 2002, with increasing numbers from all around the world in subsequent years.
ACTT was established in 1992 by its founder and Director,
Lesley Watson. Since then, ACTT has grown to be Australias
leading, independent, specialist school of performance studies offering accredited qualifications that are nationally, and internationally, recognised.
Located in Sydney, Australia, conveniently next to Central Station, ACTT conducts accredited, full-time courses
in acting, musical theatre and technical production, and an extensive
range of accredited and recreational part-time performing arts courses (from introductory acting to advanced acting, screen acting and specialist workshops such as comedy and accents).
ACTT is also the leading provider of a one-year part-time acting course for young people, aged 14 to 18 years. ACTIVATE is recognised as excellent actor training both to prepare for further tertiary training or for gaining personal development benefits such as confidence, presentation and communication skills.
