Youth Holiday Workshop: Acting and Film-making

This course is a must for anyone who wants to be an actor or filmmaker, it includes directing and film-making for YouTube and other social media sites, so you get the best results out of your phones and cameras.
Acting
Working in small groups, the course focuses on fun, play and storytelling to free the imagination and develop spontaneity and confidence. So, whether you have no acting experience or you have already attended a basic course, or just want to build on school drama this could be the right course for you.
Film-making
You will learn how to produce great short video clips and get an in-depth grounding in how to start making your own short films.You will learn how to use all kinds of ideas and objects as possible source materials for a very unique pieces of theatre or film and find out about genre, collaboration, storyboards, scripting, camera angles, shooting, and editing.
What you will learn
To improvise, act, tell stories and stretch your imagination.
To make short video pieces from concept to screen.
To create amazing performance pieces out of nothing.

Eddi Goodfellow is a multi-skilled artist, designer, producer and multimedia technician with over 20 years of experience working in theatre, digital media, creative youth and community initiatives. Eddi teaches technical production for The Core and runs ACTTs Youth courses. She has a Bachelor of Creative Arts from Wollongong University (Directing & Lighting Design). Eddi has worked as a Mentor, Teacher & Workshop Director for various youth organisations and in 1995, she received the Young Australian Citizen Award for her creative work with the children and community in Yulara & Mutujulu, NT. Eddi was awarded an ‘Emerging Producer Grant’ in 2007 by the Screen Producers Association of Australia. Her professional experience includes work in various roles across some major productions including: ‘Trocadero’ Sydney Festival; ‘The Oracle’ Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Malthouse, Brisbane Festival, Adelaide Festival; ‘Complicity’ Short Film; Company B Belvoir; B Sharp; Sydney Theatre Company’s ‘War of the Roses’ & ‘Gallipolli’; and ‘Jam on Toast’.
