Acting for beginners

Taking your first step into the performing arts may seem a bit daunting for some, but at ACTT we encourage you to, bit-by-bit, embrace the fear and have fun discovering your talents. Unlike many other acting courses which throw participants straight into acting monologues and scenes, at ACTT we assist you to nurture your own, individual talents. We have developed a technique that helps people to release their creativity which gives them the confidence to start taking on characters and roles. So our students start to ENJOY acting from their very first experience.

The perfect Mini Course

At ACTT we know that it’s often the very first taste of a new activity that determines the future enjoyment and fulfillment you get from it throughout your lifetime. We also understand that taking the first step can be a great personal challenge in itself. This mini-course is all about fun and laughter from the very first minute you Step Into Acting!. Taught by ACTT’s leading tutors, it is well suited to the absolute beginner who is not sure if acting is for them or who can’t commit to the full 8-week “Acting Essentials 1” course. Our beginners system is based around professional actors’ warm-up and confidence-building exercises and high-energy improvisation games. The focus of this mini-course is on having fun, building confidence and letting your imagination fly!

Great options to continue learning

“Step Into Acting” is the 1st half of ACTT’s long-running and popular introductory course “Acting Essentials 1” and includes time for you to ask any questions you want about ACTT or acting in general. If you enjoyed your first step, there may be an option for you to extend for another 3 or 4 weeks and complete Acting Essentials 1 along with the rest of your classmates, following discussion with your tutor. Many of our students love this course so much they are inspired to pursue a career in the performing arts, many others leave with renewed creativity and energy. What’s to lose?
