We know that taking your first step into the performing arts may seem a bit daunting for some, but at ACTT we encourage you to, bit-by-bit, embrace the fear and have fun discovering your talents. Unlike many other acting courses which throw participants straight into acting monologues and scenes, at ACTT we assist you to nurture your own, individual talents. We have developed a technique that helps people to release their creativity which gives them the confidence to start taking on characters and roles. So our students start to ENJOY acting from their very first experience.

Enjoyment is essential to the student, the tutor and the class as a whole. If everybody is being stretched while also being allowed to make their own decisions as to when and how they participate in class, it helps them to break through their personal barriers and have the confidence to ‘act’ in front of their classmates. Our beginners system is based around game-play, increasing confidence and growing together as a group, as you develop skills through participation rather than being ‘taught’ them. So in many ways it’s an adventure that leads to new discoveries and will certainly challenge you, but not in a way that that you find intimidating. As the course develops you will be given more direction by your tutor as you become more capable of adapting your characters under the capable direction of your tutor.
