Beginner Acting Courses and Workshops Sydney
For many years ACTT has been running our popular Acting Essentials 1 course. This is a carefully constructed course that uses improvisation techniques and actor training methods to allow participants to relax, feel comfortable and build confidence in their ability to perform and be creative. It’s a great experience and very popular with people of all ages and backgrounds. This short course usually runs for 1 evening per week over 8 weeks or 1 Sat/Sun session per week over 6 weeks
A pathway of short courses is available
After completing Acting Essentials 1, many students choose to progress to Acting Essentials 2, another 8 week course where they will be introduced to script work, learning lines, rehearsing and taking direction as they develop a character before performing a 3 minute monologue in front of family and friends. After completion of Acting Essentials 2, the next step is Developing Actor, which involves working on and performing a two-person or three-person scene with other student actors.Alternatives for the time-poor
For people who cannot commit 6-8 weeks we have created Step Into Acting! specially for you. This unique course runs for either four weekday evenings or three weekend sessions, so it's a great way to dip your toes in and see if you enjoy yourself. Step Into Acting! is the first half of Acting Essentials 1 and anyone who completes Step Into Acting! will be given the chance to continue into the second half of Acting Essentials 1 (after discussion with their tutor). After completing this 3 or 4 weeks course, you will have discovered if you enjoy beginners acting, or not.Other short courses for beginners
